I am pleased to announce that my work is included in two exhibits this month. The first, Writ Deep, curated by Shannon Stratton, opened in late August but is hosting a closing reception next Thursday, September 23 at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois from 4:30- 6:00.
More details here. I am sad to say that I will not be able to attend this event, since I'll be at Haystack that week as part of New Works (I'll tell you more about that tomorrow)
The second exhibit, Cutting Edge, curated by Joetta Maue, opens this Friday, September 17th as part of the Brooklyn Textile Art Center's grand opening celebration.
I stopped by the space earlier this summer and was impressed by their clean look, beautiful racks of thread, and storefront exhibition space, so I can't wait to see my work installed in the space. I'm also looking forward to meeting lots of artists that I've been in shows with before but only talked with via e-mail. I am excited to say that I will be there for the party on Friday night in Park Slope, and I'd love to meet you there! The center is close to public transportation (the R,M,F, and G trains stop nearby) More information on the event can be found here. Hope to see you in Brooklyn...
Thank you thank you to all my New York friends who came out last night. What a warm welcome. I can't wait to hang out more this winter.
