Martha Martha Martha..........

Through my friend Jill Draper, who was up for an American Made award, I found out about the awards party/workshops that are going on now at Grand Central Station here in New York.  I went to a few workshops yesterday, and got up early this morning to attend a few more.  There are lots of great people there, representing many states and different art forms/ food products.  I ran into my friend Rachel - owner of Pins and Needles on the upper east side- together we made silicon snake molds for casting chocolate and wax.  Later on I attended Martha's "five things everyone should know" demo, which included making perfect ice balls with a $1300 dollar machine.  Is it on my Christmas list?  No way.  But it was pretty cool to watch.  Two lucky audience members got to drink glasses of scotch hand poured over perfect ice by  Martha Stewart at ten thirty in the morning in Grand Central Station. I'd say that's a pretty good morning.   I took a few pictures, including this one of Martha, especially for my old Chicago neighbor David, who loves Martha unfailingly.   It's funny how a week in New York City can start out dull and end up with Martha Stewart.  I think I'm starting to love it here.....
