In case you're not on instagram, I thought I'd post some progress photos of the quilt I've been finishing lately. I started it last year when my Grandma died, and I've been working on it every since, with a big (huge) break to write a book. It's pieced out of her housecoasts and nightgowns, and quilted with size 8 perle cotton (my favorite thread). I'm almost done. I'll show a finished photo very soon.
This is so beautiful! I love the rhythm of the lines and that you made if from your Grandmas housecoats and nightgowns. Really lovely.
ReplyDeleteI just lost both my grandparents in 4 days and found an idea of making a quilt from their clothing. I think it's a great idea to embroider their initials and birth and passing date in the binding. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! So inspiring!
ReplyDeleteLove is evident in these stitches!
ReplyDeletePrecious idea for a family who loved her!
