Lacis- Berkeley....

I went to Lacis today.   Have you been there? I had not been in a few years.  They have an incredible selection of embroidery thread, among other things.  I love looking at the endless array of linens, silks, rayons, wools, and cottons.  I've never seen so much in one place.

Where do you go to buy specialty threads?  Do you have a recommendation?

  1. I love Lacis and their collection of vintage needlework. For speciality threads I love another local needlework store, Needle in a Haystack on Alameda island.

  2. There's a wonderful shop in Elmira that I've heard about from my friend Marjorie, who says the store owner offers a wide variety of fine materials. I hope to see for myself soon! Until then - I'm throwing hanks of silk-cotton #5 thread into my dye pots and jars...lovely.

  3. Stitchery Row dot com is the website for the shop in Endicott (not Elmira, sorry) - in case you're ever coming through the Binghamton area, it's worth a stop! All of your Cortland friends would love to see you any time. :)
